After studying and working in Halifax for 12 years, my partner and I decided to move with our two children to Grey County to be closer to our extended families in Ontario . Growing up in rural Ontario, I understand the opportunities and challenges for engaging youth in meaningful and rewarding programming. I bring my experience in community development, my passion and desire to build a vibrant, engaged and energetic community to Launch Pad and the greater community in Grey County. Launch Pad’s mission is to invest in our youth, encourage their curiosity, and appreciate their talents and innovative ideas... and it's my job to make sure that Launch Pad continues on that path!
I love being a part of the Launch Pad team and the best part of my job is meeting all the new members who come through our door.
After 20 years running my own company writing software for electric utilities and other large corporations I’ve
transitioned to using my skills to help small companies and musicians create web-based applications. Most of my time is
spent writing code – a lot of code, but I am also very busy with our small homestead where my family and I
grow about 85% of our own food.
I’ve started volunteering at Launch Pad because I want to help young people become excited about the new technology that is being created and the opportunities it presents.
Seth began his time at the centre as a volunteer, teaching beatmaking, ukulele, and guitar. Right away he was inspired by how energetic, creative, funny, and honest the members were. Now he’s a programs assistant at the centre; and he continues to be inspired by the people there. He loves to see members try new things and use their skills to better the community. Seth is also a writer, editor and self-taught musician. He lives in Hanover with his wife, Bonnie.
